All Game Modes Explained
GameGuessr features 6+ distinct game modes, each offering a different way to test your gaming knowledge:
Campaign Mode — 30 Progressive Levels
Campaign Mode is your main progression path. With 30 levels of increasing difficulty, you'll start recognizing well-known AAA titles and gradually work your way up to obscure indie gems and retro classics. Completing Campaign Mode unlocks Training Mode (where you can practice at any difficulty) and Survival Mode (where one wrong answer ends your run).
Multiplayer — 1v1 Duels & 4-Player Lobbies
GameGuessr's multiplayer is where the competitive action happens. You can:
• Challenge a friend to a 1v1 ELO-ranked duel — both players see the same screenshots simultaneously and race to guess correctly
• Create a lobby for up to 4 players — lobbies can be public (anyone can join) or private (invite-only)
• Find a random opponent through matchmaking
• Climb the global ELO leaderboard
Every multiplayer match affects your ELO rating, so each game matters. The leaderboard shows the best players across multiple categories: level, best streak, coins earned, and ELO rating.

GeoGamer 360° is GameGuessr's most innovative mode and what sets it apart from every other gaming quiz. Instead of a static screenshot, you're placed inside an interactive 360-degree panorama captured from within a video game world.

Weekly Challenge — 7 Days, 1 Attempt Per Day
Every week, a new Weekly Challenge begins. You get exactly one attempt per day for 7 days. Your scores across all 7 days are added together, and the player with the highest cumulative score at the end of the week wins 1 month of VIP Basic for free.
This mode rewards consistency and daily engagement. Even if you have a bad day, you can make up for it the next day. The competitive nature and the VIP prize make it one of the most popular modes.

Maps Only Mode
Maps Only is a unique challenge: you see only the in-game map of a video game and have to identify which game it belongs to. No screenshots, no panoramas — just the map. This mode tests a completely different kind of knowledge: your familiarity with game world layouts, geography, and cartography.
Training & Survival Modes
Training Mode lets you practice at your own pace with adjustable difficulty — perfect for learning new games or warming up before competitive play. Survival Mode is the ultimate test of consistency: keep guessing correctly to maintain your streak. One wrong answer and it's over. How long can you last?
